Safeguarding Media
Integrity
. Strenghthening Democratic Resilience.

At a time of rapid digital change, widespread misinformation and growing distrust in institutions, the Mike Koedinger Foundation works to protect and strengthen informed, resilient democracies. The foundation promotes media literacy, supports the next generation of independent and entrepreneurial media initiatives, and actively defends democratic values. It addresses the challenges posed by disinformation, populism, climate denial and the unchecked power of digital platforms - by fostering critical thinking, credible journalism and responsible public debate.

Based in Luxembourg with a strong European and international outlook, the foundation acts as a bridge between local engagement and cross-border cooperation. Through strategic partnerships and collaborative initiatives, it helps strengthen democratic resilience across Europe in the digital age.

The foundation organises events, develops projects, awards grants and shares resources. All donations are fully dedicated to these initiatives, as the foundation’s operating costs are personally covered by its founder.

The more funding is raised, the more the foundation can do.

A Growing community of changemakers

The Mike Koedinger Foundation speaks to a growing community of change makers who refuse to accept that truth, trust and democratic debate are becoming collateral damage of the digital age. It brings together people across generations, united by a shared conviction: a healthy democracy requires credible information, critical thinking and independent journalism.

This audience includes policy makers and public leaders shaping the rules of the digital society, entrepreneurs and business executives who understand that stable institutions and informed citizens are essential to economic resilience, and educators, journalists and civil society actors working on the front line of media literacy and public debate. It also attracts engaged citizens who want to better understand the forces influencing public opinion, resist manipulation, and contribute to a more responsible and informed society.

Internationally minded yet rooted in Luxembourg, the foundation resonates with a community that is European by culture, global by outlook, and pragmatic by nature - people who believe that democratic resilience is not a slogan, but a collective responsibility.

In short: leaders, builders, educators and citizens who want to protect what makes democracy work - and shape what comes next.
